Machu Picchu Full Day

The Sanctuary at Machu Picchu is nestled in an ecosystem known as a Cloud Forest, characterized by exuberant vegetation, high mountains with sheer drops and a great deal of rain; it is located in the transition zone between the cordillera and the jungle, with altitudes ranging from 6250 to 1800 m.

 
Chinchero, Moray and Maras´ salt pans

Guided tour to the ruins at Chinchero and the market, followed by the circular Andean terraces of Moray, an Inca agricultural experimentation center, followed by a visit to the colonial village of Maras and the Inca salt pans, from where the Incas distributed salt to different parts of the empire. Lunch is at Urubamba, we can suggest where or include it if you prefer.

 
Religious Tour (Cathedral, San Francisco and La Merced Convent)

We will first visit the Convent and Church of Santa Teresa, built over Inca ruins in the mid-XVI century. This is where the Viceroy Francisco Toledo lived during his stay in Cusco. In addition to its historic importance, this is a Convent currently inhabited by cloister nuns (unique). Next, we will visit the Santa Clara Convent, also built in the mid-XVI century, where the Conquerors’ daughters were normally sent to complete their studies.

 
Machu Picchu Overnight 2d/1n, 2nd day visit in Sacred Valley

We will take care of everything: two way train admission fees in the rail service of your choosing (Hiram Bingham, Vistadome, Backpacker), guided 2-hour tour, bus up and down from the ruins. We can suggest good places for lunch or we can include lunch if you prefer. On the second day, on the way to Cusco you will have a guided tour to Moray (inca agricultural center) and Maras´Salt pans.

 
Pisaq & Ollantaytambo

Guided tour of ruins at Písaq with the possibility of going down to the market on foot, or bus. Lunch can be at Písaq or Urubamba, or if you prefer, we can suggest some places; it can also be included. In the afternoon we will visit Ollantaytambo ruins and town.

 
City Tour and Ruins

We will first visit the Tambomachay ruins, ceremonial centre dedicated to the cult of water, followed by a visit to Puca Pucara, an ancient collection and storing centre and guard post for the Incas. We will continue with the Q’enqo ruins, a centre for ceremonies and rituals, to finally arrive at Sacsayhuaman, an impressive fortress made of gigantic stones, famous for its outstanding architecture. From Sacsayhuaman, we will descend Inca steps towards the city of Cusco, arriving at San Blas, an artisan and bohemian neighbourhood, where the most renowned and popular artists get together.
