Rafting
Apurimac Canyon 4d/3n
Departure from the city of Cusco, heading southwest to the bridge of Huallpachaca (elevation: 2000 meters – 6600 feet- above sea level). The road to the river passes through rural farm lands with impressive views of the Apurimac Valley. At the put in to the river, lunch is served while the rafts are loaded. In the afternoon, we paddle for about one and a half hours down Class III and IV rapids and reach our first campsite. A team of guides travels ahead to prepare camp and set up tents.
Chuquicahuana (Experience Required)
A stretch of continuous Class III to Class IV rapids through a narrow valley; birdwatching and passage through the Chuquicahuana canyon.A good run at any time of the year, with Class IV and V rapids from November to April.
Ollantaytambo (Medium Difficulty)
This descent begins in tranquil waters, and continues onto the Ollantaytambo rapids, surrounded by Andean terraces, Inca trails and natural rock walls rising above 800 m. Birdwatching and Inca ruins; this section can be done from May to December.
